As is usual this time of year we had a small number of players taking part. This week we had 10 members taking part in a 2 x X + Y competition.
It was warm and sticky when we started. However the breeze got up later in the round so the conditions were much more pleasant.
It is only the second time we have played this format so it is still difficult to work out what is a good score. Looking back at the Friday history page on the site it seems like nearly all teams played better this time than last time we played this format. So we had the best ever winning score and also the best ever chocolates score.
The winners with 141 points were John Wo, Rosemary, Hans O and Doris4 with 141 points.
Last place and chocolates went to Mel, Pat Mc (2nd week in a row), Ann N and Doris4 with 134 points. They were a little unlucky as they beat the score of 3 of the 4 teams that played this format last time around.
Nearest the pin was won by John N with a distance of 2.42m.
We have processed the cards for handicap.
Of the 10 players 7 scored 30 or more points.
John Wo was the only person to play better than their handicap with 39 points. He went round the course in a gross 75 shots. Also, a special mention for John N who scored 36 points on the back of a 6 shot handicap cut from Tuesday. Very impressive.
5 players were in their buffer zone and 4 had small increases in handicaps.
Next week the Master course is closed so we will be playing twice around the Classic course starting at 10:08.
Everyone will have a few less shots than usual next Friday as the Classic course is easier than the Master course. The Handicaps page on the site has the slope tables if you want to have a look at the difference in difficulty of the courses.
