Format
The format for the 2009 Xmas Golf competition held on Friday 11 December was matchplay between a team playing for Almerimar Today against a team playing for Alcor Properties.
The Almerimar Today team was captained by Jacqui and John. The Alcor Properties team was captained by Alan and Sharon Sly.
Players were allocated to the teams in the following way:
A list of all players entering the competition was sorted into sloped handicap order. If people have the same sloped handicap the order of those players was based on alphabetical order of surname, then first name.
Players 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 etc. in the list were allocated to team A. Players 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 etc. in the list were allocated to team B.
We drew lots and decided that Team A (slightly lower handicaps) played for Almerimar Today and Team B for Alcor Properties. Once the players in the teams had been agreed we then made a draw for who plays against who in the matchplay.
The draw took place after Friday golf on 4th December.
Results
Congratulations to the Alcor Properties team on their comprehensive 7 - 4 victory.
Dinner
The prize giving dinner took place at Restaurante El Espigon here in Almerimar. After the meal and prize giving we danced the night away.
