As you might guess we print out a lot of stuff for the society on a regular basis. Start sheets, handicap lists etc.
In the past we have used our own printer. The cost of cartridges to print items has been recouped via guest fees paid in regular FGS competitions on Fridays, Tuesdays and Sundays. It is accounted for in the accounts details that can be seen if you log in to the site.
HP has now launched the Instant Ink service in Spain. This service can reduce the cost of printing significantly if you have a suitable printer and subscribe to the service. The committee has agreed to use this service as it should save the society money and simplify printing.
There will be a one off cost of buying an eligible HP printer. However the cost of printing is reduced significantly. To the point where the cost of the printer is likely to be saved in the first year. After that there will be an ongoing savings for the society.
The monthly cost of printing will be charged directly to the FGS bank account. When ink is running low HP ship new cartridges to you rather than you having to go out and buy them. In addition they provide free pay envelopes to ship the cartridges back to them for recycling. This will make life a little easier for Jacqui and myself as there will hopefully no longer be any emergency trips to the shops to buy ink if we run out.
Over the next few days we will be purchasing a suitable printer (cost 82.50 euros) and registering for the instant ink service on behalf of the society. Hopefully we should be up and running with the new printing service in the next 2-3 weeks.
