As the course is getting busy again we had to play the Classic followed by the front 9 of the Master course.
We had 43 members taking part in a Texas Best 2 competition. In this competition you play the first shot like in a Texas Scramble. After that each player plays their own ball from the position of the chosen drive. This is a competition that we do not play very often as it is not possible to keep individual scores for handicap purposes.
It was pretty windy and it got a little chilly for the later players when the sun went behind the clouds. Still, it was somewhat warmer than a lot of places elsewhere in Europe.
The scoring this week was really close. There were only 9 points separating the top and bottom places with 11 teams taking part. It is also worth noting that Doris did not have a good day yesterday. Her only team came in 9th out of 11.
The winners were Brian D, Alison L, Rosemary and Stefan H with 92 points. This was a relatively low winning score for this format. Just missing out on being on the history board by 1 point.
Last place and chocolates went to Ray B, Isabel F, Peter E and Rudolph with 83 points.
Nearest the pin was on hole 8 on the Classic course. It was won by Doug with a distance of 5.30m.
Thanks to Ray B for doing the prize giving. During it he said he thinks this is the first time he has even won the chocolates. If someone would like to prove this fact to be correct you can spend a little time looking at all of the results pages.
Please note that there will be no regular Friday golf next week. Instead we will be running the Ladies Invitational competition.
